Bio: Joe Campbell was born in his native city of Derry. He was educated at the University of Ulster and graduated from the Open University with a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities with Art History. Painter, poet, musician, writer, historian, illustrator and designer. Joe has many strings to his bow. He exhibited paintings for many years in Derry with the McGilloway Gallery and latterly with: The Cowley Cooper Gallery; The Void Gallery; The London Street Gallery and further afield with exhibitions in Boston and Berlin. For twelve years he was a designer of stained glass having worked in a number of studios across Northern Ireland including: Art Glass, Derry; Topglass, Maghera; and Caulderwoods, Belfast. In recent years, Joe has become known as a graphic novelist with a number of graphic novels to his credit published in both the UK and the US including two books on the Story of Amelia Earhart published by Uproar Comics and Missing: Have You Seen the Invisible Man? published by Accent UK. In 2014 he also authored, Crossing Borders, a collection of Paintings and poetry published by Guildhall Press. Joe has also been the recipient of a number of Individual Artist awards from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and was a UK City of Culture Individual Artist in 2013. He still lives and works in Derry with his wife, Pam, daughter, Margaret and son, John.
